Province of Santa Fe – Metropolitan Region

The province of Santa Fe, which is divided in 19 sections, is located within the northeastern region of the Republic of Argentina, and covers an area of 133.007 square kilometers. With a population of more than 3.000.000 inhabitants, the province occupies the third place, in regards to population, within the country, after Buenos Aires and Córdoba. Population density is of 22.60 inhabitants/km². Santa Fe’s capital city, of homonym name, has a population of around 600.000 inhabitants. The province borders to the north with the province of Chaco, to the east with the provinces of Corrientes and Entre Ríos, to the south with the province of Buenos Aires and to the west with the provinces of Córdoba and Santiago del Estero.

Metropolitan Region

With an area of 17.869 hectares and a population of approximately 945.000 inhabitants, the city of Rosario is the center of the Metropolitan Area of Greater Rosario, formed by Rosario, Villa Gobernador Gálvez, San Lorenzo, Pérez, Capitán Bermúdez, Granadero Baigorria, Fray Luis Beltrán, Funes and Puerto General San Martín.


The City of Rosario

The city of Rosario is located in the heart of Mercosur, in the center of one of the most productive regions in South America, which counts with more than 100 million inhabitants and is formed by the central region of Chile, the central region of Argentina and the Southern area of Brazil. The surrounding area of Rosario is formed by part of the provinces of Santa Fe, Córdoba and Entre Ríos.

The areas concentrates 20% of Argentina’s GDP and through its ports on the Paraná River, 40% of the country’s agricultural exports and 7% of its industrial exports are shipped.
